[While mommi prepares ingredients for making muffins...]

F: mammi, why do you make muffins?

M: cos it is yummy

[a few minutes later...]

F: mammi, why do you make muffins?

M: cos i like it

[30 seconds later...]

F: mammi, why do you make muffins?

M: cos we want to eat them tomorrow

F: why do you want to eat them?

M: cos they are yummy

F: i don’t like muffins

M: that’s okay, you don’t have to eat them

[another 5 seconds...]

F: i only like it a little bit…

M: that’s okay, you don’t have to eat

[3 seconds later...]

F: i want to eat a little bit……..i will eat half of the muffin…….

[the next morning....]

M: do you want to have muffin?

F: yes!

F: mommi, when you die, do you feel anything?

M: I don’t know, I am not dead yet. Maybe I tell you after I died.

C: But you can see us any more if you are dead! I know, you will be a baby again after you died.

Mammi: Felix, don’t sing when your
mouth is full

[singing stopped for a little bit and start again]

Mammi: Felix, finish the food in your mouth first

Felix: mammi, I left my ears in Malaysia

Mammi: then go stand by the door and wait
for them to come back

[silence....]

Mammi: are they back yet?

Felix: almost…..

[silence for a few more seconds]

Mammi: are they back yet?

Felix: yeah….

[later at night...]

Mammi: are your ears
still here?

Felix: yes, but they will go back to Malaysia at night

Felix: mammi, Chloe didn’t play with me today [at
playground]

Mammi: oh, you could ask Chloe if she could play with
you

Chloe: I played with Felix a little bit and then I made a new
friend

Felix: yeah, I want to play fighting

Mammi: if you play
rough, no one will want to play with you

Felix: mammi, when I say Chloe didn’t play with me, I
thought you will say that’s bad manner!

Mammi: oh….hmmm….right…Chloe should look after you when you play
outside…..

Felix: Yes, that’s what 爺爺 said!    [爺爺 = Grandpa]

Mommy: No, you were born in the Year of Dog, not from a dog

Felix: Oh….

Felix: Mommy, why was Chloe born first?

Mommy: hmmmm….hmmmm…… [luckily, topic was changed before mommy could think of a good answer...and that's still pending!]

Prawns bath August 21, 2010

Grandma: Felix, do you want some prawns?

Felix: No..

Grandma: Do you want some with soya sauce?

Felix: Ok..

[mommy handed over a prawn with sauce]

Felix: I want to dip the prawn into the sauce.

mommy: It already had a bath in the sauce.

Felix: Ok.. [ate half of the prawn]

Felix: It is dirty!

mommy: …….No, it doesn’t need another bath….

Mammi: I don’t know…it’s your toy, you go find it yourself.

Felix: Blah, blah, blah….. [with his eyes rolling & walks away to look for his toy elsewhere...]

Mammi: ……… [not sure what to say but found it a bit funny, need to stop this behavior next time though]

Mommy’s schedule June 23, 2010

[the kids were asking how mommy feel today cos she was not feeling well yesterday...]

Felix: mommy, are you still sick?

Mom: no, I am okay.

Chloe: no, she said she is okay but she doesn’t look okay. She looks sleepy.

You know, mommy, I will give you a change – you know you sleep late because you have a lot of work to do. You can sleep early and wake up at 7am or 8am, then you have a few hours to do you other job. And then you sleep early at night.

Mom: okay, I will try that.

Chloe: why don’t you try tomorrow, I will remind you.

Mom: okay………
